Martin takes heat over hockey, but US no match
Having witnessed the American hockey gang knocking off the Team Canada on one sheet of ice, the Canadian men's curling duo wasn't about to let it happen two days in a row.
Despite a sloppy start, Kevin Martin and his rink of John Morris , Marc Kennedy and Ben Hebert rallied for a 7-2 success over the United States to avenge the hockey loss from a dusk earlier. In the process, the team remained unbeaten at 8-0.
"The U.S. guys were bugging us a bit bit during the game, but that's OK," chuckled Martin.
The Canadian skip wasn't laughing so much in the initially going of the contest against a struggling U.S. side. He looked horrible as he missed his first three shots of the gamble and the team fell behind 2-1 after three ends. Martin was scored at righteous 38 per cent and the rest of the team wasn't much gamester.
"I think it was a bit of locking up first place yesterday and coming out not unreservedly ready," Martin admitted. "Around here everybody's so good that if you very recently don't come out sharp you're in trouble."
